Fire Information Specialist Dr. Tracy Hmielowksi, in collaboration with Dr. Gary Roloff at Michigan State University, has recently completed a literature review of fire effects in the savannas and prairies of the Great Lakes region.
This review summarizes the findings of over 250 studies from the region to describe fire effects on vegetation, wildlife, and nutrient cycles.
